Frank Caul is Co-Founder at OPNBuildings and despite insisting to whomever will listen that he is fully retired, he continues to be instrumental in guiding the technological development of the Building Performance Monitoring software. He has over forty years experience in the heating ventilation and air conditioning business, and began his career as a Refrigeration Apprentice and spent many years in the Commissioning Department of HA O’Neill’s then Joining Temperature Control Services as Commissioning / service engineer before departing to Saudi Arabia as an HVAC Engineer. On his return to Ireland in the mid-eighties opportunities for employment were thin on the ground so Frank started his own company, which went on to become Sirus Group employing more than 100 people across Ireland. Sirus was acquired by the international building controls company Sauter AG in 2018.

On a sunny evening with a gentle breeze in the air he will most likely be found sailing the high seas of Cork Harbour.
