ASHRAE Ireland Chapters

ASHRAE Ireland Chapter Hosting Region XIV CRC

This year, ASHRAE Ireland will host the Region XIV Chapter Regional Conference (CRC) around a major global energy summit event, GES 2023, which will bring together ASHRAE European and international members, and chapters to the West of Ireland.

This event aims to bring together individuals and organisations across all industries with the common goal of achieving net zero carbon together – for our future generations.

The CRC is a unique opportunity for ASHRAE members to attend GES 2023 and connect, learn from one another, and share best practices. The joint event will provide valuable technical sessions, networking opportunities, and social events, all centred around the theme of advancing the goal of NET ZERO in the arts and sciences of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and their allied fields.

The GES23 event and CRC meetings will take place from August 11th, 2023, through to August 13th at the Bailey Allen Hall, University of Galway.

ASHRAE is a technically led global grass roots, and growing, with over 53,000 members in over 130 nations and 199 chapters, organised into 15 regions. ASHRAE’s mission is to advance the arts and sciences of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and their allied fields, with the goal of serving humanity. ASHRAE’s vision is to create a healthy and sustainable built environment for all, embracing Diversity, Equity and Inclusiveness for all its members.

ASHRAE is also leading the development of the latest standards for green building design, including Indoor Air Quality, and the Building Decarbonisation Taskforce, established as part of a Climate Rebalancing initiative in 2021. Key standards include ASHRAE Standard 62.1, Ventilation and Acceptable Indoor Air Quality and ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1, Energy Standard for Buildings.

The Galway Energy Summit (GES) was founded in 2018, marking Ireland’s first-ever student-led energy summit. The aim of the summit is to provide a unique opportunity for members of the public, industry professionals, and academics from diverse backgrounds to connect and discuss sustainability, energy and climate change.  This is an incredibly important event in the current environmental climate. As the world continues to face the challenges posed by climate change and environmental degradation, it is critical that we all come together to share ideas, collaborate, and act now for our future.

ASHRAE Ireland is proud to be hosting this important event, which will further strengthen our commitment to serving humanity by advancing the built environment for all – for our future generations.
