ASHRAE Ireland Supports the IBPSA-Ireland National Student Symposium 2026

ASHRAE Ireland was pleased to sponsor the IBPSA-Ireland National Student Symposium 2026, held on 3 and 4 June at Dublin City University’s Faculty of Engineering and Computing. The two-day event brought together postgraduate students, researchers, academics, and industry professionals from across Ireland to share the latest developments in building performance analysis and simulation.

The symposium offered a strong platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration, showcasing student research through technical presentations, poster sessions, and the Thesis in 3 Minutes competition. Attendees also heard from invited speakers Dr Muireann Lynch and Prof Ivan Verhaert, whose contributions added valuable perspectives to the two days of discussion.

ASHRAE Ireland was proud to support an event that highlights the quality of research taking place across the country and encourages engagement between academia and industry. The programme included a presentation on a machine learning framework for hydronic balancing, delivered by a member of the ASHRAE Ireland committee. This was one example of the technically rich contributions shared over the two days, and it reflects the Chapter’s active involvement in the wider research community.

The event was also organised with sustainability in mind, minimising printed materials and making use of the digital infrastructure available in the Polaris Building at Dublin City University to deliver a more environmentally conscious experience.

ASHRAE Ireland remains committed to promoting technical excellence, student engagement, and collaboration across the building performance and HVAC&R communities in Ireland, and looks forward to backing events of this kind in the years ahead.
