ASHRAE is developing a Standard for IEQ!

A proposed Standard for Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) in Buildings aims to establish requirements for evaluating and supporting acceptable IEQ across key environmental domains—air quality, thermal conditions, lighting, acoustics, and other factors that influence occupant health, well-being, and performance.

This new standard is designed to provide a coherent, integrated framework that complements existing ASHRAE standards, helping guide design, operations, and policy decisions—without acting as a direct health regulation.
