ASHRAE has announced the dates for the next conference in its Building Decarbonization Conference series. The 2025 ASHRAE Building Decarbonization Conference will take place October 22-24 in Chicago, Illinois. ASHRAE’s fourth building decarbonization conference will feature a significant focus on strategies and solutions for scaling up building decarbonization.

Conference Chair Luke Leung provides background and focus of the conference. “The ASHRAE Position Document on Building Decarbonization suggests that in 5 years (by 2030), all new buildings should achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions during operation, and the embodied carbon in new constructions must be reduced by at least 40%. To reach these targets will require practical best practices that can accelerate transformations, scale up decarbonization efforts, and diversify across various building typologies”, he said. He added, “let's meet in Chicago and collaborate with industry leaders to advance the course.”

Industry professionals are invited to attend to share and learn new methods for meeting stringent building decarbonization goals, policies and regulations in a practical, cost-effective manner.
