ASHRAE chapters have engaged with the ASHRAE–Department of Energy (DOE) Efficient and Healthy Schools Partnership leadership team in 2023 to learn about and become empowered to help their local school districts apply for DOE facility improvement funding. These chapters have gained numerous connections and in-roads, building up government contacts with school districts. In the case of the ASHRAE Memphis Chapter, their outreach and persistence led to their local district winning millions of dollars in DOE funding. And it’s not too late to start! Your chapter can help your local school district apply for the next round of funding. And our ASHRAE–DOE partnership is here to help. Registration is open for the 2024 ASHRAE Annual Conference June 22–26, 2024, in Indianapolis. Early bird registration ends April 29. “The 2024 ASHRAE Annual Conference promises to be an exceptional event, providing valuable insights and networking opportunities for professionals in the field,” said 2023–24 ASHRAE President Ginger Scoggins, P.E., Fellow ASHRAE. The ASHRAE Historical Committee has formally announced that ASHRAE has signed the Collaboration Agreement for the Development of the Engineering and Technology History Wiki (ETHW) to join other members, including the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers, Inc. (AI ME), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the Society of Petroleum Engineers Inc. (SPE) and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). These societies are collaborating on a website containing the history of engineering and technology, making it available to the public. Read more
