2024 Conference for Integrated Design, Construction and Operations
ASHRAE Seeks Presentations for 2024 Conference for Integrated Design, Construction and Operations
The 2024 ASHRAE Conference for Integrated Design, Construction and Operations (CIDCO) (formerly the Building Performance Analysis Conference) has announced a call for presentations. The conference takes place June 24-26, 2024 in Indianapolis, IN., in conjunction with the 2024 ASHRAE Annual Conference. The conference provides an in-depth look at existing tools and applied knowledge, as well as the study and introduction of new technologies including machine learning, artificial intelligence, virtual reality and robotics to design, construct and operate buildings.
“As we continue to work to address climate change and its impacts, we recognize the need for cross sector collaboration as no one element of our industry can address the challenges alone”, said John Bynum, Conference Chair. “We need to build upon the platform of ASHRAE’s previous Building Performance Analysis Conferences to include other elements of the wider construction industry and more topics from design, construction to operations.”
Modelers, owners, principals, architects, designers, engineers, contractors, analysts and students are all invited to submit presentation proposals. Creative and interactive presentation formats are strongly encouraged.
The 2024 CIDCO Steering Committee requests the following submission types:
  • Individual presentations: On projects, case studies, use of software tools, examples of integrated design, research, or career/business development topics. (10-20 min)
  • Panel: 3-4 industry experts, including one moderator, on a current topic of interest or team case study. Only one slide deck per panel required. (90 min)
  • Seminar: 1-4 speakers and session Chair, on one of the conference topics. Individual slide decks for each speaker required. (60-90 min)
Conference topics cover:
  • Simulation Integration with Building Information Modeling/Management
  • Digital Practice Management
  • Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR)
  • Generative Design
  • Digital Twin Asset Management
  • 3D & 4D Life Cycle Cost Analysis
  • Energy and Carbon Reduction Modelling & Analysis
  • Occupant Health, Wellbeing & Comfort
  • Indoor Environmental Quality (including lighting & daylighting)
  • Real Time Monitoring and Predictive Analysis
  • Fault Detection and Diagnostics (FDD)
  • Standards, Codes and Regulatory Compliance
  • Modeling Advances – Tools and Workflows
  • Intelligent Building Operations
  • Urban and Community Scale Modeling
  • Resilience and Modelling Future Weather
Proposals must include an abstract, learning objectives and methods of assessment. The deadline to submit is November 20, 2023. If accepted, presentations will be due April 8, 2024. All speakers are expected to present their work in person at the conference venue.
